Intelligent Fluoride Removal for Drinking Water

PayPerLiter® Fluoride delivers a complete solution for removing fluoride from drinking water through coagulation, flocculation and filtration under a Water Treatment as a Service (OPEX) model.

  • If the plant already has filtration, we use the existing infrastructure.
  • If the plant has no filtration, we can include it within the OPEX model itself.

Technical context

Natural fluoride does not go away

Geological fluoride comes from the dissolution of minerals such as fluorite, apatite or micas present in the aquifer. It is not an isolated contamination event: the concentration remains, with seasonal variation, throughout the entire service life of the abstraction point.

A well with 2–5 mg/L of F⁻ therefore cannot be solved with a temporary action. It requires permanent treatment, properly sized and continuously operated, able to guarantee compliance with the regulatory limit every day of the year.

  • Geological origin, not anthropogenic
  • Stable concentration over time
  • Not removed by chlorination or UV disinfection
  • Requires specific, continuous treatment

Our solution

A complete solution, not a chemical product

PayPerLiter® Fluoride integrates coagulation, flocculation and filtration into a single process designed for each water. We do not simply sell a reagent: we design, size and operate the complete solution.

01

Coagulation

Optimised dosing to convert dissolved fluoride into retainable species, with pH and contact time control.

02

Flocculation

Controlled floc formation and growth to maximise fluoride capture and subsequent separation.

03

Filtration

Floc retention and final polishing of the water down to the target fluoride concentration.

The plant already has filtration

The existing infrastructure is used. We integrate the physical-chemical stage over the current filters, with no major civil works and without replacing operating equipment.

The plant has no filtration

PayPerLiter® includes the filtration stage within the OPEX model itself. The client does not buy the equipment: they pay for compliant treated water.

Why

Why PayPerLiter® Fluoride?

01

Water Treatment as a Service

You only pay for treated water that meets the regulation. Technical and operational risk stays on the technology side.

02

OPEX model

No large upfront investment. Treatment becomes a predictable operating cost per cubic metre.

03

Jar Test validation

We verify feasibility using the client's real water before any implementation commitment.

04

Adaptable technology

Every water matrix receives an optimised solution: dose, working pH, contact times and filtration setup.

Compatibility

Compatible with existing technologies

PayPerLiter® Fluoride can also complement already installed technologies such as desalination or reversible electrodialysis (EDR). When these technologies fail to reduce fluoride sufficiently — due to insufficient rejection, stream blending or operating constraints — our solution can act as complementary treatment to reach regulatory compliance without necessarily replacing the existing infrastructure.

  • Desalination (SWRO / BWRO)
  • Reversible electrodialysis (EDR)
  • Existing conventional filtration

International validation

Technology validated with real waters

The process has been developed and verified on real water matrices across three geographies with different hydrochemical profiles. We do not talk about clients: we talk about technology validation.
